‘Slide to unlock’ has been one of the iconic features of Apple’s iPhone. I can still remember Steve Jobs describing how the iPhone can be unlocked when he unveiled it in January 2007:
“To unlock the phone, I just take my finger and slide it across. Wanna see that again? We wanted something you couldn’t do by accident in your pocket. Just slide it across – BOOM.”
But if you’re looking for a change and a fan of TapToUnlock, then the good news is that it is now available for iOS 7.
As the name suggests, the jailbreak tweak replaces the Apple’s patented slide to unlock feature with a “tap to unlock” button, which allows you to unlock your iPhone by tapping on it.
It also offers a bunch of configuration options that lets you tap anywhere on the screen to unlock it and customize the “tap to unlock” button.
Here’s a video walkthrough of the jailbreak tweak in action via our YouTube channel iPhoneHacksTV:
The tweak is not useful for iPhone 5s users it would be a lot easier to unlock your iPhone using Touch ID, but if you own any other iOS device then you could check it out. It is a lot more convenient.
TapToUnlock7 is available on Cydia for $0.99.
