Some of our readers have been reporting bootloop issues when they restart their iOS device which has been jailbroken using the Pangu iOS 7.1 – iOS 7.1.1 jailbreak.
A reddit user has posted quite a weird solution to fix the issue. He writes:
I have an iPhone 4 and i did jailbreak with Pangu. I have bootloop everytimes i try to restart my phone.
I KNOW THIS SOUND CRAZY, but it seems like a bug caused by light sensor. If your phone is in the dark you will get stuck in the bootloop. If you point a flashlight above the light sensor, boot goes well. This also works if you get stuck on “Pangu welcome screen”.
It certainly sounds crazy, but a number of users on the reddit thread have confirmed that the solution does indeed work. Interestingly, based on the responses in the reddit thread, it looks like the issue is affecting quite a few iPhone 4 users.
Here’s a video which shows how the fix works:
If this did not work, then try plugging something in the headphone jack, it seems to resolve the issue for many readers. Thanks aleryani for the tip!
The developers of the Pangu jailbreak have said that they are working hard to improve the tool, and will fix some of the issues reported by users. I’m sure this will be one of them, until then let me know if it fixes the issue.
