Apple is expected to unveil the next generation iPhone, unofficially dubbed iPhone 6 in September, but we’ve already seen renders and physical mockups of the device that have given us a good idea of what it will look like.
Japanese Mac blog Macotakara has now published a video which gives a glimpse of iPhone 6’s rear casing. The casing which seems to be for the 4.7-inch model, has been compared with the 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch iPhone 6 physical mockups.
The rear casing in the video is in line with the leaks and physical mockups we’ve seen so far. It looks quite similar to the iPod touch 5G, the iPad Air and Retina iPad mini with rounded edges. If the rear casing is indeed the real deal then the iPhone 6 will probably be significantly thinner than the iPhone 5s. It’ll probably also sport an all- aluminum back casing with two antenna breaks cut out.
Apple is widely expected to release two variants of the iPhone 6 this year, one with a 4.7-inch display and the second one with a 5.5-inch display.
iPhone 6 is also expected to include Apple’s new A8 processor, Touch ID fingerprint sensor, and an improved 8-megapixel camera. In addition to the obvious difference in display sizes, analysts expect the larger 5.5-inch iPhone 6 to also come with optical image stabilization, which would be another differentiating feature between the two models. Recent reports also indicate that the 4.7-inch iPhone 6 will be available in only 32GB and 64GB storage options, and the 128GB storage option will be exclusively available only with the larger 5.5-inch model.
