LinkedIn has launched an app called LinkedIn Job Search, which intends to make it easier for its users to search for jobs while on the go. “Now, opportunity doesn’t just knock. It also sends notifications” is the app’s mantra, and it seems to do just that.
According to LinkedIn, 40% of its users access to site from mobile devices, and it’s no secret that many of the service’s uses involve finding employees — and, just as important, finding employers. Today, the company is taking advantage of the fact that it has such strong numbers on smartphones and tablets, and launching its very first standalone job search app.
But the main attraction of what this app offers is complete privacy. LinkedIn is known for how much it shares with other people you’re connected to (which can lead to interesting conversations with employers and coworkers), but this app does away with all of that letting you search for jobs without anyone having to know about it. As noted in one of LinkedIn’s blog posts:
Our goal is to help make this process easier for you and to help you be discreet.Everything you do within the app will be completely private and not shared with your network.
The app lets you search based on title, location, or keywords, lets you apply for jobs using an extremely simple process that takes advantage of the information already on your LinkedIn profile, and gives you the aforementioned notifications when there newly listed jobs that match what you’re in search for.
As described by LinkedIn in the app’s description:
Quickly find job opportunities wherever you want with location-based search. Get automatic recommendations and notifications based on your searches. Apply with your LinkedIn profile with just a couple taps. And do it all in total privacy, knowing your LinkedIn network won’t be notified.
· LinkedIn Job Search puts the job-finding power of LinkedIn in the palm of your hand with:
· Quick and easy search based on title, location, or keywords
· Recommended jobs based on saved searches, jobs you’ve viewed, and your LinkedIn profile
· Notifications when new jobs match what you’re looking for
· A super-simple application process using your LinkedIn profile
· Total privacy – your network won’t hear a thing about your in-app activity
The app is available completely free on the App Store right now, and is said to coming to other platforms soon.Like this post? Share it!
