The popular jailbreak tweak Activator has received its second update in less than a week, once again gaining several new features and bug fixes for iOS 7.1 and otherwise. Read ahead for a complete rundown of what’s new in Activator 1.8.4-rc 1, which builds upon 1.8.4 beta 14 from a few days ago.¬†

The latest version of Activator¬†is headlined by a new “Ask Siri” feature for custom actions, greatly expanding the functionality and convenience of Siri on iPhone. The update also includes several changes for iOS 7.1, including support for status bar events when Notification Center is enabled.

The full changelog:

  • Support status bar events on 7.1 when Notification Center is enabled
  • Fix short/long hold home button events on 7.1
  • Fix double press home button event on iOS 7.1
  • Add “Ask Siri” custom actions
  • New developer APIs
  • Make speech actions play when selected
  • Make speech actions speak slightly slower

While several users report that Activator is compatible with iOS 7.1 and later, others are unable to get the tweak to work properly with their device. Keep in mind that the package is still in beta, available exclusively through Ryan Petrich’s repository by adding http://rpetri.ch/repo to your Cydia sources.

The public-facing version of Activator is free on Cydia in the BigBoss repo. The tweak provides centralized gestures, button and shortcut management for iOS devices.
