The question of whether or not a large, 5.5-inch iPhone 6 exists has been on the minds of several people as of late, as we near the September launch date. It’s been in question because of a lack of leaks, mostly, but that is starting to change.
In today’s latest batch of leaked photos, which were published by Evasi0nJailbreak, we’re looking at what is reportedly the shell of the larger, 5.5-inch “iPhone 6L.” That L there at the end of the 6 was recently added in a report, which believes that Apple will call the 5.5-inch iPhone 6 that: the iPhone 6L. There’s not much more information to be gleaned from the images, though, and not much added to them context wise. We do get to see the larger shell compared to a smaller one, though, so there’s that.
The design of the body does indeed line up with what we’ve seen in the past, though. While it’s certainly not a guarantee that the 5.5-inch iPhone 6 is coming, it’s at least another ingredient in the recipe needed to eventually see it come out of the oven.
Apple is set to have their iPhone 6 event on September 9. There, we are likely to see the 4.7-inch iPhone 6, and may see the 5.5-inch variant as well. In that larger model, we’ve already seen what’s believed to be the giant 2915mAh battery. However, while the event is in September, and it’s believed that the smaller option will launch at the end of the month, it’s rumored that the 5.5-inch variant could see an official release in 2015.
Are you holding out for the 5.5-inch iPhone 6? Or are you going with the 4.7-inch model?
