We’re back with another installment of the Best Tweaks of the Week! This week we have 6 tweaks for you to check out. For the lineup we have AppControl, BetterNF, mVisualizer, GlowBadge, BlowToUnlock, and BigBubbles. This week was a pretty good week for tweaks, so I recommend reading through these to see if any catch your eye.
BetterNF – $1.99
If you’re an avid use of Netflix, then you might want to check out BetterNF. BetterNF will give you the IMDb rating, Rotten Tomatoes critics rating, and Rotten Tomatoes users rating, right there in the info panel of the movie you’re looking to watch. This will give you a better idea of what others thought of the show so you can make an informed decision. It also gives you bandwidth stats while watching the movie, that you can of course hide when not needed.
mVisualizer – $1.99
This is a tweak that is a cool idea and I think has some potential. It will give you a visualization of the audio that is playing either on the device or even any audio outside of the device, including your voice, right there on the lock screen. You can even tap and hold on the lock screen to record a voice memo and either save it for later or set that voice memo for a reminder at a custom time later. The only con of this tweak is that the animations aren’t all that great and not very fluid. If they can come up with a more appealing visual, I would consider using this on my daily driver.
GlowBadge – Free
If you’re sick of the notification badges or you just want to add a little something to your springboard , check out GlowBadge for free in Cydia. This tweak will make the apps that have notifications glow. You can change the color of the glow and you can hide the badge notifications if you’d like to get a more minimalistic look.
BlowToUnlock – Free
This is a novelty tweak since I can’t really think of any actual uses for it. But, what this tweak does is allow you to blow on your device to either wake it up or unlock it. Yeah, you heard me right. Blow on the device when it’s asleep and you can make it wake up or unlock. Just configure which you want it to do in the settings.
AppControl – $1.99
This tweak lets you manually configure specific apps to to have a custom name, volume level, brightness level and even add a password in order to open the app. It has a really elegant UI and is very easy to use. It’s a couple tweaks in 1 and I recommend checking out the video below to see it in action.
BigBubbles – Free
If you’re a fan of the new large previews of the photos in iOS 8, then you should check out BigBubbles. It’s going to give you a large preview of photos that you send or receive within the Messages app. No setup required.
