Apple marketing chief Phil Schiller on Thursday announced pricing details for the all-new iPad Air 2 and iPad mini 3 tablets, which will be available for sale beginning next week. The iPad Air 2 starts at $499 for the base model with Wi-Fi and 16GB storage, while the base model iPad mini 3 will retail for $399. Read ahead for the full pricing breakdown.

Schiller confirmed that the previous-generation iPad Air, iPad mini 2 and iPad mini will be retained as part of the iPad lineup. The first-generation iPad mini is now the cheapest model available at just $249, quite an affordable entry level price for an Apple tablet. The new iPad Air 2 and iPad mini 3 are also $100 cheaper than last year’s models.
