According to Piper Jaffray analyst Gene Munster, Apple will be launching its television in 2016. Since 2011, Gene Munster has been predicting that Apple will jumping into the television market in the holiday season of the following year.
After making incorrect predictions on Apple’s Television since the last four years, Munster has become wiser than before. When Business Insider asked him the same question again at their IGNITION 2014 event, Munster said that Apple is still two years away from launching its own television.
Munster states that the reason behind this is that Apple takes a few years before jumping into a new product category. He even estimates that Apple will sell around 22 million units in the first year of its launch.
Considering that Apple is all set to launch the Apple Watch early next year — a completely new product category — Munster statement and his prediction about Apple launching a television in 2016 does not match up.
Do you think Apple will be launching a television in 2016? If yes, what are your expectations from it?
