Despite the fact that the Steve Jobs biopic, formerly housed at Sony and now at Universal Studios, has seen its fair share of ups and downs, the project is still coming along.

According to a report published on Tuesday, December 9 by The Wrap, the role of CEO John Sculley could be filled by Jeff Daniels (THE NEWSROOM, DUMB AND DUMBER), who is reportedly in talks right now. The initial report cites “multiple individuals familiar with the Universal project,” and also states that while Daniels has not received an official offer just yet, it should be coming soon. The report claims that Daniels is Danny Boyle’s, the director of the upcoming biopic, first choice for the role.

Just recently it was revealed that Natalie Portman had decided to opt out of the project altogether for an unknown role. It’s still being rumored that Seth Rogen will be playing Steve Wozniak, while it has been confirmed that Michael Fassbender will be playing Steve Jobs in the film. It’s being written by Aaron Sorkin.
