Nokia’s HERE Maps, a popular mapping service around the world, has seen a lot of attention on Windows Phone handsets in the past. For iOS users, an update from Nokia may be good news.
That will change in 2015, according to an official blog post created on December 10, officially announcing the public release of HERE Maps for Android. According to the blog post, Nokia made the decision to bring HERE Maps to iOS because users have requested it so much. Of course, when HERE Maps launches in 2015, it will face stiff competition from the likes of Apple, Google, and others.
However, due to the demand that Nokia has seen for their maps option, the app is coming. When that might be, though, is still unknown as of the time of this writing. Nokia says it will launch in “early 2015.”
“Following the positive reviews of HERE for Android, a lot of people have expressed their interest in an iOS version of our app. We really appreciate this interest and demand. Our iOS app development team is working hard on this and we plan to officially launch HERE for iOS in early 2015“
Have you ever tried HERE Maps? If so, are you looking forward to its iOS launch next year?
