Rumors about a larger 12.2-inch iPad Pro have been floating around the wide world of the web for nearly a year now, but nothing concrete about the device has leaked to confirm its existence. The latest rumors about the iPad Pro have pegged its launch in Q2 2015
Some purported internal sketches of the device have made their way to the Internet though revealing that it would be coming with stereo speakers, a powerful A8X processor and a 12.2-inch display — instead of the long rumored 12.9-inch one. Today, the folks behind Nowehereelse.fr have managed to get their hands on a purported rear shell of the iPad Pro along with some other details about it.
The source of the photo states that the iPad Pro will be between 6.9mm to 7.5mm thin and will come with four integrated speakers. For comparison, the iPad Air 2 is only 6.1mm thin, while the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus are 7.1 and 6.9mm thin, respectively. This matches up with the previous leak of the iPad Pro blueprint that had leaked in November last year.
The device is being assembled by Foxconn, which is where this alleged image was captured from. The Chinese company is one of the largest manufacturing partner of Apple and has worked with it on the iPhone, iPad and other devices. While the source of this leak has been credible in the past, Steve from Nowhere Else still recommends to take the authenticity of these images with a grain of salt.
