Samsung is expected to unveil the highly anticipated Galaxy S6 to take on iPhone 6 on March 1st at the Mobile World Congress 2015 in Barcelona.
Based on the leaked photos, published by French website Nowhereelse.fr, the Galaxy S6 may look like iPhone 6. Nowhereelse.fr has a decent track record, they had leaked photos of the iPhone 6 that turned out to be quite accurate.
If the Samsung Galaxy S6 chassis shown in the photos is indeed the real deal, then it will have rounded edges, antenna bands and holes for the speaker, which look strikingly similar to the iPhone 6. Rumors also suggest that Galaxy S6 will feature a glass back and front like the iPhone 4 and iPhone 4s.
Samsung became one of the biggest smartphone vendors by copying Apple products, however the Korean company was forced to change its strategy after Apple sued it for billions of dollars. But ever since it has done that it has seen its market share fall drastically.
So not surprisingly, as John Gruber of Daring Fireball points out, it looks like Samsung has decided to adopt its previous strategy of copying Apple’s iPhone again. Gruber writes “copying Apple shamelessly and accepting the eventual legal losses and the public perception that Samsung is a blatant copycat as a cost of doing business.” It would be disappointing if it uses this strategy again, as we want companies like Samsung to challenge Apple rather than copy them.
