13-inch MacBook Pro updated, Force Touch trackpad, 10 hour battery and more

13-inch MacBook Pro

The 13-inch MacBook Pro has been updated along with the 11- and 13-inch MacBook Air lineup, with the focus being on the trackpad, extending the battery life and more.

While on stage at the “Spring forward” event, Phil Schiller confirmed that the 13-inch MacBook Pro would be getting updated to feature a new trackpad, the same “Force Touch trackpad” that Apple unveiled in the new 12-inch MacBook at the event. The updated models also include 2x faster Flash as well.

One of the bigger updates for the MacBook Pro is the battery, which now gets 10 hours of its “all-day” battery life.

So does this count as an official “refresh” of the mac book pro? Or is there another update coming up in the next few months?

It is anybody’s guess at this point, but we haven’t heard of any major updates coming for MacBook Pro.

That is sad. I was hoping for more of the macbook upgrades to carry over to the pro, like the keyboard, battery, and the super compact logic board.

Dual-core crap. I do not understand this. I really hope Apple keeps the regular 15″ MacBook Pro a quad-core i7. Otherwise I’m keeping my devices.

I am sure they will continue to offer the MacBook Pro as the new 12-inch MacBook won’t meet the requirement of power users.
