Apple today finally announced its Back to School promotion for 2015. Unlike previous years though, Apple will be offering eligible customers of any Mac a free pair of Beats Solo2 On-Ear headphones.
The promotion runs from July 23 through September 18, 2015 at all of Apple’s U.S. retail stores and authorised stores. For its online stores, the promotion will start from August 6 and run through September 18. 2015. The Beats Solo2 On-Ear headphones cost $199.95, though many customers would have likely preferred an App Store or iTunes Store gift card.
To be eligible for the promotion, customers must purchase any Mac from Apple, which includes the iMac, MacBook Pro, MacBook Air and Mac Pro.
The company is also offering eligible customers the option to upgrade to the Solo2 Wireless On-Earphones headphones by only paying an additional $100.
Apple has usually launched its Back to School promotion in late June to early July. However, this year, for some reason, it has started the promotion towards the end of the month. In an internal memo last week, Angela Ahrendts, SVP of retail at Apple, had told the company’s retail employees that it would provide more insight about the Back to School promotion this week. The delay plus the memo from Ahrendts led many to assume that Apple might not be holding the Back to School promotion this year.
