An alleged representative for China Telecom, one of Apple’s carrier partners in China, has reportedly confirmed a number of iPhone 6s rumors ahead of the handset’s big unveiling next month. But there’s bad news for those who were hoping for a pink model.
The unnamed China Telecom rep took to Chinese micro-blogging network Weibo to confirm the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus would launch sometime between September 18 and September 25 — in China, at least — and will pack Apple’s new A9 processor, 2GB of RAM, Force Touch, and an improved camera.
September 18 is a launch date we’ve heard a number of times before, while these specifications have been reported countless times as well. However, the China Telecom rep did have one piece of information many iPhone fans won’t be pleased with.
Apple is expected to add a pink color option to its iPhone lineup this year, but this source says that there is no sign of this model.
We have to add that these are very sketchy claims. There’s no evidence to suggest the person making these claims really is a China Telecom representative, and even if they were, it seems highly unlikely Apple would be sharing details like this with carriers ahead of its iPhone announcement.
With that in mind, we recommend you take all of this information with a pinch of salt for now. While the release date makes sounds and the specifications sound believable, you shouldn’t rely on them until they are confirmed by Apple.
