Which color iPhone 6s or iPhone 6s Plus should you buy — Space Gray, Gold, Rose Gold or Silver?

iPhone 6sPrevious generations of the iPhone were only available in two colors, white and black, making it easy to pick your favorite hue. Starting with the iPhone 5s, Apple expanded its color choices by introducing a third color — gold. Now with the iPhone 6s, the company is adding a fourth color — rose gold — an option that first appeared with the Apple Watch. This new rose gold option is similar to the existing gold models, keeping the same white front face and replacing the champagne gold casing on the back with a subtle, rose-colored housing. Both the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus are available in all four color options, so which one are you going to choose? Read on for some useful tips to help you decide.

Gold

Gold is like licorice — some people hate it while others love it. One thing is for sure — Apple has done an excellent job with the gold color option. It’s not a tacky color of gold and is closer to champagne in hue than a gold yellow. The gold back plate is complemented by a white-colored front plate and white bands across the back. It stands out from the traditional space gray and silver options, which often are spotted in the wild. Because it is a white phone with gold accents, this color choice may hide scratches better than its black counterpart, but it also will show more dirt and grime. If you go with this model, get a good lint-free cleaning cloth so you can clean the phone without scratching it.

All New Rose Gold

Starting with the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus, the Rose Gold option brings an exciting new shade of gold to the iPhone lineup. Paired with a white-colored front face plate and matching bands on the back, the Rose gold back plate looks classy. Similar to the gold iPhone, the Rose Gold model, will turn heads when you use it in public. Just be careful how you use it as the white coloring tends to highlight the dirt and grime more than the dark colored casing of the space gray model. The rose gold color is probably the only way for someone to figure out you’re rocking the latest iPhone.

Silver

Apple made sweeping changes to its iPhone lineup when it introduced its gold iPhone 5s. Along with the gold model, Apple also changed the name of the former black iPhone to space gray and re-branded its white iPhone model with the matching name of silver. Like the gold version, the silver iPhone has a white-colored front plate and light gray bands across the back. The backplate is a silver colored anodized aluminum that is lighter in hue than the space gray model. Once again because it is a white phone, it’ll likely hide any superficial scratches, but show off the dirt.

Space Gray

The space gray iPhone keeps the tri-toned coloring of previous models, mixing a grey anodized aluminum backplate with a black front and dark grey bands across the back . It’s a sleek coloring that looks great all the time. The dark color also helps to hide the dirt, though it may show off scratches a bit more than its white counterpart. It also is prefect for watching movies, which look great against the dark borders of the phone.

Which color will you choose?

Color choice is so subjective that there is no perfect one that is better than the other. Look at the range of colors and pick the one that best suits your style. Simply make your choice and don’t look back. If you get tired of the shade you selected, you always can add a case to change its appearance down the road.
