Apple has again expanded the reach of transit directions inside Apple Maps to cover Los Angeles. Locals can now get bus and metro routes for their journey, and view scheduled arrival times at different stops.
Apple is yet to add Los Angeles to the Transit section of its “Feature Availability” webpage, but availability was confirmed by Los Angeles Times. The move comes almost two months after Apple made transit data available for Boston.
Introduced with iOS 9, transit data in Apple Maps allows users to navigate cities by bus, train, and ferry — and find nearby restaurants, shops, cafes, and more along the way. With L.A. added, transit data is now available in 13 cities around the world, and throughout China.
Those cities include Baltimore, Berlin, Boston, Chicago, London, Mexico City, New York City, Philadelphia, San Francisco, Sydney, Toronto, and Washington.
