Rumors coming out of China indicate that the Apple Watch 2 will go into trial production later this month, and if everything goes right and according to the plan, it will be released sometime in Q2, 2016.
The rumors claim that Quanta will once again be manufacturing the Apple Watch for China, though Apple could also turn towards Foxconn and its other partners to increase the production capacity of the smartwatch, if it decides so.
As per recent reports and leaks, the Apple Watch 2 might come with a dedicated FaceTime camera and will feature huge upgrades in the health and medial area. Apple has been beefing up its medical technology division since late last year, which does point towards the Apple Watch coming with better and more health-tracking related features.
Apple had launched the Apple Watch in April last month, but it is unlikely that the company will unveil its successor around the same timeframe. It is possible that Apple will release the Apple Watch 2 at WWDC 2016 this year, which is usually held toward the end of Q2 every year.
Other features and specs of the Apple Watch 2 remain a mystery for now, but if the smartwatch does indeed end up going into a trial production later this month, expect more details to leak about it sooner than later.
