iOS mail attachments at your fingertips with AttachmentFlow [Jailbreak Tweak]

If you are someone who always uses Apple’s Mail app, the jailbreak tweak AttachmentFlow is one you definitely have to download and try out.  With AttachmentFlow, the Mail app’s functionality is expanded and iOS device users are able to view attachments in emails directly from the list of messages.

In today’s day and age, everyone constantly sends and receives emails multiple times a day and many times attachments are included in the email. Typically, users on Apple’s Mail app have to open each message individually and scroll to the bottom of the page to view the attachment(s). If you have AttachmentFlow, you can just view attached images or documents right from the message list. The way this tweak works is once you open up the Mail app, there will be a paperclip at the bottom left of the screen, which users can click. Once the paperclip is tapped, all emails with photos attached will show up in the email preview like this:

All emails without any attachments will just look like a normal email. However, all attached photos in emails will display at once, altogether. To open Flow view, simply long press on the screen and only emails with attachments will show up and messages without any will disappear. Attachments include all documents, photos, videos, audio files, and any other custom type of file. Another great thing about this tweak is that attachments will not be downloaded and displayed unless you allow it to- this will prevent any unexpected data charges.

To view each attachment individually, just tap on a specific thumbnail and it will open it in full screen. This will allow users to share via text message/email and any other social media platform they have on their device or save the attachment to the Photos app. We’re not sure about you, but this tweak is one we’d recommend as it makes everything ten times more awesome and easier for sure. AttachmentFlow comes in handy when you want to immediately see what attachments are in incoming emails all at once. This tweak is currently compatible with Apple’s stock Mail app on all devices running iOS 8 and iOS 9.

Advanced users can even customize the functionality of this tweak in ‘Settings/AttachmentFlow.’ You can customize the following things:

  • Custom filters for the Flow View
  • Choose whether or not you want to see attachment file names
  • Different performance controls
  • Attachments with specific extensions can be hidden
  • Hide small images i.e. signature logos, icons, and other things you don’t want to view

If you are on iOS 9.0.2 and are experiencing issues with attachment cache where attachments are being deleted on a daily basis forcing you to re-download it every time, simply go to ‘Settings/AttachmentFlow/Missing Attachments’ to fix this issue.

Those of you interested in downloading the jailbreak tweak can find it on Cydia’s BigBoss repository for $1.99. Though it might not be for everyone, the jailbreak tweak can come in extremely handy if you frequently deal with email attachments.
