The iPad Air 3 isn’t quite official just yet, but that just gives more room for the Rumor Mill to spike up interested ahead of the tablet’s announcement.
In a recent report from 9to5Mac, the month in which Apple intends to unveil the upcoming iPad Air 2 successor may have been revealed. Based on the information provided to the publication, Apple has plans to unveil the iPad Air 3 in March, during the company’s event that will reportedly also showcase a new 4-inch “iPhone 5se.” The report states that Apple is planning for an event the week of March 14, but that could change at any point between now and then.
Unfortunately, the report doesn’t give any insights into what the iPad Air 3 may boast when it gets unveiled later this year. It does point back to an earlier report that suggested the 9.7-inch tablet would boast a rear LED flash, and that it could feature four speakers, just like the iPad Pro. Indeed, the report also indicates that Apple is testing iPad Air 3 units with support for the Apple Pencil, too.
As it stands, the iPad Air lineup hasn’t been updated since 2014, so a new arrival in the early part of 2016 would be a welcomed one, especially with the rumored new additions.
The Apple Watch will make an appearance at the March event, too, but this will be focused on new band colors, according to the report. That includes new colors for the Apple Watch Sport bands, as well as new variants of the Hermes lineup as well. That previously leaked Space Black Milanese Loop band is said to be making an appearance, too. The report also states that Apple will unveil a brand new band, made from a new material, at the event as well.
The oft-rumored iPhone 5se’s features are rumored again in the report, indicating an A9 processor, and M9 coprocessor, under the hood, with a 4-inch display, NFC support for Apple Pay, and support for Live Photos, too. The report states that the iPhone 5se’s design will harken back to the iPhone 5s, but that the chamfered edges have been replaced with softer edges, similar to what’s found on the iPhone 6.
Based on these rumors, are you looking forward to what Apple has a coming down the pipe?
