One of the many reasons that users jailbreak their iOS device is to customize and make it look the way they want. SweetDisplay is a new jailbreak tweak that customizes the animation that takes effect when your app launches or goes to the background.
It offers over 15 different types of animations such as ripple, fade, page curl, cube and many more effects. The selected animation styles will be applied to all the iOS apps installed on your iPhone and takes effect when you launch an app or close it by pressing the Home button.
Once installed, you can get started by heading to the tweak’s preferences pane available in Settings. From there, you can enable or disable the tweak on demand and choose the animation effects to take place for app launching and app closing.
The pane is divided into two sections, one dedicated for app launch animations and the other for app closing. You can choose a specific animation for each of the actions along with specifying the direction of the animation for certain styles and the target position it should open or close to. For instance, if you set the animation style to Suck, you can choose whether the app should suck in to the Home button or to the center of the screen.
The tweak also allows you to adjust the duration of the animation. The higher the duration, the longer it will take for the animation to complete. What I like mostly about SweetDisplay is that doesn’t require any respring. Once you’ve chosen the animations styles, they will take effect right away without requiring your device to be restarted.
SweetDisplay is a type of tweak that might not appeal to every user. I personally prefer the stock app launching and closing animations of iOS as the ones offered by the tweak are not comforting to the eye when you are constantly launching and closing apps.
If you’re the type of user who loves these kind of customizations then you should definitely check out this new tweak. SweetDisplay is available on BigBoss repo for $1.99 and supports all iOS 8 and iOS 9 devices. Sound off in the comments section below with your opinions on the new tweak.Like this post? Share it!
