Apple tops the ‘World’s Most Admired Companies’ list for the ninth year running

Apple has a lot of track records, and one of them just so happens to be being one of the most admired companies in the world.

Actually, the series has Apple the most admired company, out of many, for the ninth year in a row. This year sees Alphabet (Google’s parent company) join the ranks, with Amazon making sure that the Top 3 all start with an “A” in their name. With Apple in first (8.6 points), Alphabet in second (8.2 points), Amazon in third (7.3 points), Berkshire Hathaway in fourth, and Walt Disney in fifth, the list is certainly a strong one yet again.

Netflix made its return to the Top 50 again, settling in at position 19. Facebook managed to sneak into position 14:

“There’s a new AAA standard in corporate America: the one-two three punch of Apple, Alphabet, and Amazon. For the fourth time, our list of the World’s Most Admired Companies Top 50 All-Stars is led by a trio of tech giants under 40 years old. They preside over a class of blue chips and even younger tech stalwarts, such as Facebook (No. 14), Salesforce (No. 34), and Netflix, which makes a return to the Top 50 at an impressive No. 19”

Fortune puts together its list every year, and this year it was compiled from 1,000 of the largest companies in the United States based on their revenue, and outside of the U.S. it included 500 companies with a revenue of, or exceeding, $10 billion. Those numbers were trimmed down to the list we see now.
