AT&T offering up to $650 to entice folks to switch carriers

Carriers want you to subscribe to their network, and if you’re under the competition’s network banner, getting you to switch is a pretty high priority.

And the best way to convince those who might be on the fence is to throw money, or credit, their way. Sprint has already had its switcher promotion in place for awhile, which offers up to $650 to switch to the Now Network from another carrier, and Verizon Wireless even launched the same type of promotion not too long ago as well. T-Mobile has its own switcher promotions, too. And now AT&T is getting in on the fun.

The Big Blue carrier has announced a new switcher promotion that sees the carrier offering up to $650 for those that leave their carrier and switch over to AT&T. To get the credit, you’ll first need to port over your old number from Verizon, Sprint, or T-Mobile to AT&T, and buy a new phone from AT&T Next. You will also have to trade in your old network smartphone, and send in your final bill from the old carrier to AT&T.

After you’ve done all that, you’ll receive a Visa prepaid card with up to $650 to cover your old installment plans or early termination fees, minus the value of your trade-in phone.

The switcher promotion by itself is fine enough, especially in light of what the other carriers are offering. However, AT&T announced a new buy one, get one promotion for new customers (and existing ones), which means you can actually get your second line free, along with covering the fees to make the switch in the first place.

With that in mind, do you think you’ll switch to AT&T?
