SPTouch for iOS 9 adds a virtual Home button to your iPhone

Many of us have been in a situation where the iPhone Home button would stop working properly making it difficult to switch between different apps unless Assistive Touch has been enabled. SPTouch for iOS 9 is a new jailbreak tweak that will definitely come in handy in such situations as it provides a virtual Home button.

Just like Assistive Touch, SPTouch also adds a new button to your iPhone screen that acts solely as a virtual Home button. This means that with one tap on the button, you can mimic the action of the physical Home button.

The button can be dragged around freely on the screen to reposition it anywhere you want. Just like the Home button, a single tap on SPTouch will take you back to the Home screen whereas a double tap launches the App Switcher.

The virtual button is also highly customizable allowing you to make it look the way you want. From the tweak’s preferences pane in Settings, you can adjust the size of the virtual button and its transparency, disable it on the Lock screen, add a border to the button and much more.

The good thing is that the changes take place right away so that you can customize the button accordingly.

SPTouch is quite an interesting tweak that requires one less step to access the virtual Home button compared to Assistive Touch. The only thing I’m not fond of is the appearance of the button as it doesn’t look native. Other than this, it does its job perfectly.

If you’re interested to give this tweak a try, SPTouch is available for free on Cydia’s BigBoss repo and supports iOS 9. Let us know what you think about it in the comments section.
