Touch ID is a great feature that was first introduced by Apple in the iPhone 5s and is now equipped into the latest models of iPhone. It allows users to use their fingerprint to unlock the iPhone rather than entering the passcode. Unlocking using Touch ID is much faster than if you were to enter the passcode.
Touch ID is indeed an awesome feature but it comes with a restriction. You can only use it when there’s a passcode enabled for your iPhone, which makes sense as the main purpose of Touch ID is to enhance the security of your device. If this bothers you, then check out a new jailbreak tweak known as AlwaysTouch.
The tweak allows users to unlock their device using Touch ID even when there’s no passcode set. Rather than pressing the physical Home button and swiping the Lock screen to unlock your iPhone, you can simply place your finger on Touch ID to unlock your device right away and go to the Home screen.
What’s more interesting is that you can use any of your fingers to unlock your device. This is because the tweak is designed for situations when there’s no passcode set, therefore a specific fingerprint is not required for authentication. It only serves as a means to unlock your device much quicker using Touch ID rather than swiping the Lock screen.
If you are worried about the security of your device and by no means plan on leaving it unsecured, then this tweak is not designed for you.
The tweak may come in handy to a select number of users only, mainly those that don’t see the need of setting a passcode on their devices. If you’re one such user, then AlwaysTouch is a great tweak for bypassing the Lock screen and jumping straight to the Home screen with the use of TouchID.
AlwaysTouch is available as a free package on Cydia’s BigBoss repo. If you plan on giving it a try, let us know what you think about it in the comments below.
