Evan Doll is the co-founder of Flipboard, but before that he was working under the Apple banner building things for the Cupertino-based company.
According to a report published by Bloomberg, and citing information gleaned from Doll’s LinkedIn page, Apple has officially rehired Doll to the company. The LinkedIn page says that he is now the Director of Health Software Engineering, but unfortunately there aren’t any additional details provided to discern just what it is Doll is doing at the company. He was apparently brought back into the Apple fold back in July of this year.
The timing is certainly interesting, especially considering a recent report that indicated Apple is hard at work on a “killer” health-tracking device. Which would seem right in line with Apple’s overall focus on the health field. While it’s unknown just what Doll will be doing with the new role, having a veteran of Apple, and high-profile services, is surely a bonus for the company in general.
