Apple has quietly updated its website to reflect that it would be launching the Apple Watch Nike+ in two weeks from now on October 28. Apple had announced the special edition Apple Watch Nike+ alongside the Apple Watch Series 2 at its ‘See You on 7th’ media event in September.
Back then, the company only mentioned that the Nike edition of the Apple Watch would go on sale in late October.
The Nike+ Apple Watch features an aluminum casing with a compression-molded perforated band that is light and breathable. The watch is aimed at athletes and also comes with some special apps to motivate them. This includes watch faces designed by Nike that feature its iconic Volt color and a complication for quickly launching the Nike+ Run Club app. These software changes will remain exclusive to the Apple Watch Nike+ and will not be available on other variants of Apple Watch.
Based on the Apple Watch Series 2, the Apple Watch Nike+ features a display that can reach brightness levels of up to 1000nits. It also comes with a built-in GPS chip that makes it possible to track your runs more accurately without using your iPhone.
Prices for the 38mm Apple Watch Nike+ edition start from $369, while the 42mm variant is priced at $399. The watch will be available in four different colors.
