KGI Securities Analyst Says iMac and Cinema Display Not Launching at Apple’s ‘Hello Again’ Event

Sharing his last minute predictions ahead of Apple’s October 27th ‘Hello Again’ event, KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo shares in his latest reported that Apple will be revealing redesigned 13-inch and 15-inch MacBook Pro variants at the event. The refreshed Pro models will come with Touch ID sensor, an OLED touch panel, USB Type-C ports, Thunderbolt 3 support, and faster Intel Skylake processors.

In addition, they will also make use of the new butterfly mechanism keyboard that Apple first debuted with the 12-inch MacBook in 2015.

The analyst also says that Apple will be unveiling a “13-inch MacBook” at the event. A refreshed variant of the 13-inch MacBook Air, the laptop will feature USB Type-C ports and faster internals. Disappointingly for many, Kuo says that while Apple is working on a 5K iMac with powerful new AMD GPUs and a new Thunderbolt Display, both of them will not be ready for launch before the first half of next year. However, it is still possible that we will see Apple at least unveil these products at its event later this week.

Kuo did not mention anything about the Mac Pro in his report and given the lack of leaks and rumors, the chances of Apple updating its powerful workhorse with faster internals at its ‘Hello Again’ event are looking very bleak.

What are your expectations from Apple’s October 27th event? Are you looking forward to the upcoming MacBook Pro refresh?
