Instagram Live Video Expands to All Users in the U.S.

What was first announced back at the end of November, Instagram‘s Live Video is now live.

When it first introduced the new feature, Instagram said Live Video would be rolling out to users over the next several weeks, with no finalized date to expect for the rollout’s completion. However, it’s been confirmed that for all Instagram users in the United States, the new live video feature is available in their Stories.

Users will be able to see if you’re live with a “LIVE” badge over the Story icon. Viewers can tap the heart icon to show their appreciation for the live feed. And the live videos are not archived in any way, so catching them in the moment is key to experiencing them, it seems.

To go live, simply swipe right from the feed to access the camera. There’s an option right there on the screen to “Start Live Video” which will allow users to share a live video for up to one hour. A notification will be sent out to friends when a user goes live, too. Comments can be pinned, or turned off altogether if the host prefers.

Do you plan on using this feature at all?
