Nintendo’s first game for the smartphone generation is a side scrolling, automatic runner. Super Mario Run brings decades of nostalgia into the palm of your hands. And of course, before it gets here, you want to know everything about it. Read on.
When is Super Mario Run Releasing?
Super Mario Run is releasing on December 15th, in US time zones. So the timing across the world is going to be different. What exactly? We don’t know yet. You can sign up to get notified when the game launches.
Where Will It Be Available?
It’s going to be available almost everywhere in the world – with 151 countries on the launch day list. English, Japanese, German, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, Dutch, Russian and traditional Chinese languages will be supported.
How Much Does It Cost?
The game is available for free on the App Store and you’ll be able to play all three modes (although they’ll be limited). But to unlock the entire game, you need to pay $9.99 in app purchase.
Which Devices Are Supported?
Super Mario Run supports both the iPhone and iPad. The game supports iPhone 5s and higher (iPhone 5 and 5c users are left out).
Will It Require An Internet Connection?
Sadly, yes. Even after the game is fully downloaded, you won’t be able to play the game unless you’re connected to an active internet connection. Nintendo says that this is to fight piracy.
How Do You Play The Game?
Super Mario Run was created for the mobile generation and it’s designed so you can play it with just one hand and with just one finger.
You tap on the screen to make Mario jump. You tap longer to make Mario jump higher and that’s it. Mario will jump over some obstacles automatically.
All you have to do is make Mario jump around in a way that you capture the most coins and power-ups. Each stage also has special coins, marked in pink.
What do The Other Modes Do?
Along with the default “World Tour” mode that’s based on 24 levels, there’s a multiplayer mode (Toad Rally) and a mode where you are free to create your own kingdom based on the points you earned in the Toad Rally mode.Like this post? Share it!
