Facebook is one of the biggest names when it comes to social networks, but that hasn’t stopped the company from trying to ape features of another popular network.
Instagram, which is owned by Facebook, launched its own Stories feature in 2016, and now it looks like Facebook is simply going to launch its own version of the feature as well. Recode notes that the new Stories feature is currently being tested in Ireland, along with other upcoming features, but says that a spokesperson for Facebook says the new feature probably won’t be in testing for long:
“We’re hoping to bring Stories … to the rest of the world in the coming months,” the spokesperson added”
With Facebook’s Stories feature, it will allow users to publish both photo and video posts, which will disappear after 24 hours. There’s no word on when it might roll out to the public, but it sounds like it could be soon.
