Save Your iOS 10.2 SHSH2 Blobs before Apple Stops Signing the Firmware

Downgrade iOS Firmware

A few days back, Apple released iOS 10.2.1 which contains minor bug fixes. While iOS 10.2 is still being signed, it won’t be long before Apple closes the signing window for this firmware.

We strongly recommend that you save your SHSH2 blobs for iOS 10.2 before it is stopped being signed. Blobs can only be generated for firmwares that are still being signed by Apple. If the iOS 10.2 signing window is closed, you can no longer save its SHSH2 blob and this means that you can’t upgrade or downgrade to this firmware using tools like Prometheus.

Even if you’re jailbroken, it’s still best to save the SHSH2 blob for iOS 10.2 so that you can upgrade to this firmware without being forced to update to the latest iOS firmware. There are no jailbreaks currently for iOS 10.2.1 and iOS 10.3, which is why it’s important that you take the chance to save your blobs for iOS 10.2.

You can read either of the following guides for saving your iOS 10.2 SHSH2 blobs:

The latest Yalu jailbreak supports iOS 10.2 on specific devices such as iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus, iPhone SE and iPad Pro. The signing window for iOS 10.2 is still open and you can upgrade or downgrade to this firmware via iTunes, however the window may close very soon.
