The Yalu jailbreak for iOS 10.1.1 is still a work-in-progress, but those of you who have been eagerly waiting for the jailbreak to be fixed for unsupported devices will be glad to find out that this has happened.
Another developer going by the Twitter handle @sticktron has posted a fix for the jailbreak that brings support for TSMC iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus, and iPhone SE. Luca has confirmed that this fix works properly for the aforementioned devices, stating “since people seem to not know yet: a fix for TSMC has been posted for both SE and 6s. So support should now be complete for those devices.” He adds “I suggest using @sticktron’s 6s TSMC fix, no one else’s.”
This is a great news for those who own an iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus or iPhone SE with TSMC chip, but as always, we recommend that you stay put and avoid jailbreaking until a more stable version is released. The hacker has warned several times that this jailbreak is only intended for developers and that “there is a pretty serious bug in all Yalu betas.”
Apart from this, Luca has mentioned several times that jailbreak users should avoid installing any sort of Substrate enablers, such as YUCCA Utilities, as they “do it wrong”. He also added that it’s best to remove OpenSSH or avoid installing it as it’s currently broken on iOS 10 and that the jailbreak already comes with its own SSH.
Despite these warnings, if you’re ready to take the risk and jailbreak your device, then you can download the latest TSMC fix for iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus from here and iPhone SE from here. Keep in mind that you should only install the jailbreak tweaks that are compatible with iOS 10.1 – iOS 10.1.1. You can find the list of compatible jailbreak tweaks here.
