But don’t worry, there’s an easy way to transfer all your music to your Mac. All it takes is downloading a third party app and a couple of minutes.
Note: When you connect your iOS device to a Mac or PC that it hasn’t been synced to, iTunes will pop up, asking if you want to sync the device with this particular Mac. Don’t do that. It will wipe your entire device and you’ll lose all your information. Also, this will only work for music you’ve manually synced to the iPhone n before, not on songs downloaded from Apple Music.
Use AnyTrans (Free Trial)
AnyTrans is a feature rich iOS sync and backup app for both the Mac and Windows PC. One of the things it can do is extract the music from the iOS device and copy it to your computer. The app has a 7-day free trial, after which it costs $35. But for this particular use, you can get by with just the free trial.
Download the app for your operating system of use from here (click on Free Download from the page), open the DMG file and add the app to the applications folder by dragging it.
Step 1: Launch the app and connect your iOS device to your PC.
Step 2: It will be recognized instantly and you’ll see shortcuts for doing things. Click on the Menu button on the right edge, highlighted in the screenshot below.
Step 3: Then click on Audio and select Music.
Step 4: Now, you’ll see all your songs here. Select all the songs you want to transfer.
Step 5: Then look at the toolbar at the top. you’ll find two buttons – Send to Mac (because I’m using a Mac) and Send to iTunes. Send to iTunes will add the songs to your iTunes library.
Step 6: Send to Mac brings up the file picker. Choose the destination and tap on done. You’ll get a popup for activating the app here.
Wait for a second or two and then choose to continue with the free trial. In a while, all your songs will be copied over to the destination you choose.
