Apple Revises HomeKit Site to Serve as Directory for Accessories

Apple has made a noteworthy change to its dedicated site for HomeKit accessories, making it much easier to find a specific product.

Up until recently, the site was more like a support document, with products listed by companies, which could make finding what a potential customer was looking for a bit more difficult than it should be. But that has changed, with Apple revitalizing the dedicated page to be more of a comprehensive look at available, and upcoming, HomeKit accessories.

The new site is now broken down into categories, rather than by product manufacturers. At the time of publication, Apple has these dedicated sections: Lights

  • Switches
  • Outlets
  • Thermostats
  • Windows
  • Fans
  • Air Conditioners
  • Sensors
  • Security
  • Locks
  • Cameras
  • Doorbells
  • Garage Doors
  • Bridges
  • Range Detectors
  • In each category, Apple has listed products in alphabetical order. So in the Lights section, potential customers will find the C-Sleep bulb with C by GE Translator at the top of the list, and a new SYLVANIA light listed as coming soon.

If you’re in the market for putting together your home with a variety of smart devices and accessories, the new site is certainly a nice way to find potential products to fill the space.

Do you have any smart home accessories? How are you liking them?
