Apple’s recurring Spring event, where it unveils its early-year products, has often been rumored to take place in March, as it has in years prior.
However, it is starting to feel like that event may not take place in March after all. Now, a report from Apple World Today suggests that Apple may be waiting until April to host an event, and ultimately unveil new iPad Pro models. According to the report, Apple will indeed unveil a 12.9-, 9.7- and 10.5-inch iPad Pro, but there aren’t any other details to go on as far as the tablets are concerned.
The report is focused on speculation regarding the big unveil date. Specifically, we already know that the new Apple Park, with the Steve Jobs Theater, is set to open in April of this year. Moreover, we know that the last event Apple had at its 1 Infinite Loop headquarters would be the last event at that site, with all future unveilings planned to be made on Apple Park grounds.
So, Apple could make that announcement on April 4, at the Steve Jobs Theater:
“We’ve been hearing recurring rumors that a new 12.9-inch iPad Pro, a possible 10.5-inch iPad Pro, a revised 9.7-inch model to replace the iPad Air 2, and even a 7.9-inch iPad mini update might be announced soon. Perhaps Apple’s event is scheduled for Tuesday, April 4, meaning that the new device would have “same day” availability after an announcement.”
Nothing is official at this point, of course, so we may still get an invitation from Apple for a March event before the week’s out. But, if Apple is indeed planning to host its next event in the Steve Jobs Theater with its 1,000 seat capacity, then it’s looking like April is the safer bet.
