A new report from DigiTimes claims that Apple will be launching the new 10.5-inch iPad Pro at an event in early April. This contradicts a rumor from earlier today which claimed that Apple will be launching its refreshed iPad Pro lineup as early as next week.
The report says that Apple will be targeting the education and business sector with its new iPad. The company will also be launching refreshed models of its 12.9-inch iPad Pro, with the new 10.5-inch iPad Pro presumably replacing the existing 9.7-inch iPad Pro.
Apple has also moved forward the production of the 10.5-inch iPad Pro to March, with the initial shipments of the device expected to be around 1 million in March and 1.2 million in the second quarter of this year.
With so many contradictory rumors, it is very difficult to nail down when exactly Apple will be unveiling the new iPads. However, one thing is for certain: the launch of new iPads is imminent, and it is just a matter of weeks now before Apple goes official with them.
The 10.5-inch iPad Pro will feature dimensions similar to the 9.7-inch iPad, with the additional increase in display size being made possible by the reduction in its bezels. The bigger display on the new tablet will also allow Apple to ensure that the 10.5-inch and the 12.9-inch iPad Pro feature the same display resolution.
