YouTube is one of the best places to find any type of video that you’re looking for, whether it be a tutorial, movie trailer, review, or anything else. You can watch these videos directly from your iPhone or iPad using the official YouTube, but one of the major drawbacks is the inability to download videos for offline usage.
There are third-party apps that allow you to download YouTube videos onto your iPhone, but this requires you to manage a separate app. Luckily, there is a more simpler method that will allow you to download videos right from the YouTube app and save it to your iPhone’s Camera Roll.
YouTube++ is a modified version of YouTube that provides new features, including the ability to download and save videos. The good thing about this is that it doesn’t require a jailbreak and integrates with the YouTube app.
In this tutorial, we will show you how to download and save YouTube videos on iPhone or iPad.
How to Install YouTube++ on iPhone or iPad
Step 1: If you have the YouTube app installed on your iPhone, then remove it first.
Step 2: Download the following files onto your computer:
Step 3: Connect your iPhone to your computer via a USB cable and open Cydia Impactor.
Step 4: Drag and drop the YouTube++ iPA onto Cydia Impactor.
Step 5: You’ll be asked to enter your Apple ID and password, which is sent to Apple to generate a signing certificate. If you don’t want to provide it, you can create an alternative Apple ID and use that instead.
Step 6: Once you enter your Apple ID, Cydia Impactor will begin installing YouTube++ onto your device. After it’s done, you should see the YouTube app icon on your Home screen.
Step 7: Before opening YouTube, go to Settings -> General -> Profiles (or ‘Device Management’).
Step 8: Open the profile with your Apple ID and tap on the Trust button.
How to Download YouTube Videos to your iPhone’s Camera Roll using YouTube++
Step 1: Once you install YouTube++ from the previous section, go to the Home screen and open YouTube.
Step 2: Open the video which you’d like to download. Right below the video, you’ll find a new Save button.
Step 3: Tap on the Save button and choose ‘Save With ++’. Then choose the video resolution to download.
Step 4: Go to the Downloads tab to view the progress of the download. Once it’s done, you can view the downloaded video whenever you want, even in offline mode.
Step 5: To save a downloaded video, tap on the more button next to it, indicated by three dots, and then choose ‘Save to Camera Roll’.
Step 5: After the video is saved, you can view it from the Camera Roll section in the Photos app.
This is how you can download and save YouTube videos on your iPhone without using any third-party app. Keep in mind that after every 7 days, you have to reinstall YouTube++, unless you used a developer Apple ID.
