3D Touch has enabled developers to add shortcuts to their apps, which can be accessed by performing a 3D Touch gesture on a Home screen app icon. Wormhole is a jailbreak tweak that brings a similar concept to the toggles found in Control Center.
Wormhole adds shortcuts to some of the toggles in Control Center, allowing you to perform extra actions that wouldn’t otherwise be possible. It enables you to take advantage of 3D Touch to perform additional actions from Control Center, such as respringing your device.
With Wormhole installed, the following shortcuts are added to Control Center toggles:
- WiFi toggle: access your favorite website in Safari.
- Do Not Disturb toggle: respring your device.
- Airplane Mode toggle: open the Settings app.
These shortcuts can be accessed by 3D Touching the respective toggles in Control Center.
Apart from shortcuts, Wormhole offers a couple of other features as well. It randomly colorizes the Control Center toggles whenever they are enabled, just like Cream 2. Additionally, it adds a couple of new toggles for Low Power mode, screen recording, and Cellular Data.
Once you install the tweak, head to its preferences pane in Settings and from there, you can configure each of the features of the tweak as well as choose your desired webpage to open with the WiFi toggle shortcut.
While this is an interesting concept, one thing that I don’t like about this tweak is the inability to choose your desired shortcut. You are limited to using the shortcuts that come by default and there’s no way that you can change it with something else.
If you’d like to give this tweak a try, Wormhole is available for free in Cydia’s BigBoss repo. Let us know what you think about it in the comments below.Like this post? Share it!
