DJI Releases Apple TV App For Watching Content Shot on Its Drones

DJI Mavic Pro

DJI, known for its Phantom and Mavic series of drones, today announced a dedicated app for the Apple TV 4. The app will allow users to watch aerial videos shot and shared in up to 4K by DJI drone owners from around the world.

In addition to Apple TV, DJI is also making its app available for Samsung’s Tizen-powered TVs. Apart from watching content, the app also makes it possible for DJI drone owners to upload and share their drone footage with the world.

“We’ve made flying and capturing aerial footage easy with our drones, and now with the DJI Smart TV App, creators will have more ways to share their work with the world. This is really an opportunity for people to be inspired, intrigued, travel to places they would have never imagined and see the world in a whole new way,” said Paul Pan, Senior Product Manager.

For now, DJI is curating all the content being displayed in the app so you will primarily be seeing professional looking aerial drone shots. The company hopes that this will inspire other users to go ahead and buy one of its drones to capture similar breathtaking videos as well.
