It looks like Apple is gearing up to launch Apple Pay in Germany as soon as next month. Rumors about Apple bringing Apple Pay to Germany have been circulating since last year but there has been no official announcement from Apple on this front so far.
Previous reports had suggested that the talk between Apple and German banks had stalled due to issues over revenue sharing.
A screenshot shared by a MacRumors reader shows Apple presenting users with the option to add German cards to Apple Pay while setting the payment service up on an iPhone and Apple Watch running iOS 11 and watchOS 4.
As per developer Philipp Ebener who shared the screenshot, he was not able to add any of his German cards successfully. Nonetheless, the option showing up itself hints at the impending launch of Apple Pay in the country.
It is possible that we can see Apple make an official announcement about Apple Pay coming to Germany and presumably other countries in September when the company holds an event to officially unveil its 2017 iPhone lineup.
