In July of this year, the popular do-it-yourself resource iFixit officially launched battery replacement kits for the Retina MacBook Pro.
And now that same ideal has extended to the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. They have officially launched kits for both handsets, along with resources to go through the step-by-step process when a battery needs to be replaced. On top of that, the kits will also help iPhone 7/7 Plus owners if they need to replace their screen, or other small parts as well. Each of the options are clearly marked, so if you need one fixed and not the other, it should be easy to find what you’re looking for.
“Our kit has everything you need to replace your old battery: A custom driver, steel bits, opening tools, ESD-safe tweezers, and a new battery backed by our one-year guarantee.”
As far as pricing goes, there are several options depending on what you need to fix/replace. The battery replacement kits start at $44.95 for the iPhone 7, while the iPhone 7 Plus battery kit is priced at $49.95. There are several different options for the small parts kits, with prices ranging from $34.95 to $84.95, depending on the iPhone model and what needs to be repaired.
The screen kits are the most expensive, though. The iPhone 7 kit costs $134.95, while the iPhone 7 Plus is priced at $164.95. Color options are also covered, so you won’t have to suffer through a white replacement on a black phone, or any other swapped scenarios.
The kits are available for the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus, as well. And, as noted above, the Retina MacBook Pro battery kits are also still available.
