With the iPhone 8 just a month away from being announced, reports about Apple’s next big flagship are churning out almost every day. A new image leak depicts what the purported “Champagne Gold” version of the handset will look like. We can see the familiar vertical camera layout on the back here, which is in line with previous leaks as well. The leak also shows the standard Black variant along with the Silver iPhone 8.
The images also reveal the slightly larger power button on the side. Rumors have mentioned that Apple will integrate the Touch ID sensor within this elongated power button. This, along with the new camera layout are the only changes that are apparent from this new leak. The leak doesn’t show the front portion of the smartphone, so it’s not possible to compare this leak with what we’ve come across before.
There are no indications if this is a dummy model or a functioning device captured from a production unit. Given the hype surrounding the iPhone 8, there are a handful of manufacturers who produce dummy units of the iPhone 8 based on recent rumors. Taking all these factors into account, we’re going to take this new leak with a pinch of salt.
The iPhone 8 is expected to bring a handful of changes to the table, primarily with regards to display technology. The phone is also expected to feature an OLED screen, and a new facial recognition feature. Samsung is said to be revamping production of OLED panels ahead of the big release.
