At $999, the iPhone X is certainly not cheap. And if you plan on taking AppleCare+ of the device, it is not going to be cheap either. Apple has priced AppleCare+ for the iPhone X at $199.
If you take AppleCare+ for your iPhone X, you will extend its warranty to two years. The program will cover two accidental damages and also offer screen replacement at a subsidized price of $29.
As if this was not enough, Apple has also raised the prices of AppleCare+ across the board for its iPhone lineup. AppleCare+ for the iPhone 7 and iPhone 8 will now set you back $129 vs its previous price of $99.
Similarly, AppleCare+ for the iPhone 6s Plus, iPhone 7 Plus, and the iPhone 8 Plus will now cost $149 — up from $129. The benefits of AppleCare+ for the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus remain the same as the iPhone X.
If you plan on purchasing AppleCare+ for your iPhone X or iPhone 8, make sure to do so within 60 days of purchasing the device.
Out of warranty screen repair for the iPhone 8 will cost you $149, with the iPhone 8 Plus coming in at $169. Again, this is a $20 premium and the increased prices are also applicable for the iPhone 7 and iPhone 6s.
While it is understandable that Apple has increased the repair prices for its new iPhones, it makes little sense for the company to make the price increase applicable to older iPhones as well.Like this post? Share it!
