Fake Craig Federighi on ‘Conan’ Answers Some Hilarious Questions About Face ID

Face ID is the highlight of the iPhone X and it is bound to get the attention of everyone, with many consumers having questions about how it works, its advantages, disadvantages, and more. Now, the late-night show Conan hosted by Conan O’Brien has taken a dig at some of the questions consumers have surrounding Face ID.

In the latest episode of Conan, a man dressed like Craig Federighi is shown answering questions about Face ID. Some questions are genuinely useful like will whether Face ID works with the photo of a face or not, what happens if one is sleeping, the number of faces one can register for Face ID, and more. Other questions, however, are downright hilarious and range from does Face D work with a butt or not, does one’s face have to be fresh or not.

Face ID works using the TrueDepth camera system found on the iPhone X. The feature is exclusive to the iPhone X and is not available on the iPhone 8 or iPhone 8 Plus.

Apple is not the first company in the world to bring face unlocking to smartphones. However, since the iPhone is so popular, it is bound to be scrutinised the most. Other flagship Android phones like the Galaxy S8, Note 8, and LG V30 also feature face unlock, though admittedly they are not as reliable as Face ID on the iPhone X and can be easily fooled using a 3D printed face or a photograph.
