Pioneer has confirmed that there is a compatibility issue with the AppRadio mode in some of its in-dash receivers with iPhones and iPod Touch running iOS 11. Due to the compatibility issue, the AppRadio mode will simply show a blank screen at launch.
The company is looking into a fix for the matter and until it arrives, it recommends users stick to iOS 10 on their iPhone or iPod Touch. A list of all the Pioneer models having compatibility issues with iOS 11 can be found here. The company will post a notice on its website along with a link to download an updated firmware which will resolve the issue.
AppRadio mode on Pioneer receivers allow users access to a bunch of compatible smartphone apps on the infotainment system of their car.
