iOS 11 is packed with tons of new features and changes. It comes with a redesigned Control Center and App Store, smarter Siri, native screen recorder, Do Not Disturb While Driving, and much more. One of the significant changes in iOS 11 is the video player which looks more sleek and polished.

If you ever wished that your video player in iOS 10 looked like that of iOS 11, then you should definitely check out a new jailbreak tweak known as VideoPlayerXI, which has been created by Cydia developer LaughingQuoll. He has previously released a number of tweaks that bring the new iOS 11 features to iOS 10.

As the name implies, VideoPlayerXI brings the design of the new video player in iOS 11 to jailbroken iOS 10 devices. If you’re not planning to upgrade your device to iOS 11 and instead, prefer to keep your device jailbroken on iOS 10, then this tweak will allow you to get your hands on the iOS 11 video player without actually upgrading.

The new video player looks more streamlined and blends in very nicely with the video to avoid distractions. Upon installing VideoPlayerXI on your jailbroken iPhone, try playing a video from Safari, Photos or any other app and you should notice the new UI design of the video player which looks more polished than the old interface.

The tweak also comes with a couple of customization options that are available via its dedicated preferences pane in Settings. There’s not much to configure apart from enabling or disabling the tweak on demand and switching between dark and light themes. When you switch to the light theme, a whitish gray background appears behind the UI elements of the video player as opposed to the dark theme which has a black background that blends in very nicely with the video.

The tweak works in both portrait and landscape orientation, so if you were to hold your device in either orientation, the new video player design will be displayed.

VideoPlayerXI is a solid tweak that looks and functions exactly the same as the iOS 11 video player. If you ever wanted to try the new video player on iOS 10, then you should definitely check out this tweak. There are also a couple of other tweaks released by the developer that brings iOS 11 features to iOS 10. Some examples include ControlCenterXI, LockScreenXI, and DockXI.

If you’re in to give this tweak a try, VideoPlayerXI can be downloaded for free from Cydia’s BigBoss repo. It currently supports jailbroken devices running iOS 10.

What do you think of the new video player design in iOS 11? Do you prefer this design over the old one? Let us know in the comments below.
