In an interview with CNBC, Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak has claimed that he won’t upgrade to the iPhone X. The interview didn’t shed light on the reasons, however. Wozniak has been getting every new iPhone on day one, but the iPhone X will apparently be the first iPhone he’ll be missing this year.
This could be partly due to the fact that he already owns an iPhone 8, which he’s not too impressed by. Woz believes that the iPhone 8 is the same as the iPhone 7, which is the same as the iPhone 6.
This has some truth to it since most of the upgrades made by Apple were with the ‘Plus’ variants in the form of the iPhone 7 Plus and the 8 Plus respectively. Keeping this in mind, the iPhone 7 and the 8 were pretty much the same as the iPhone 6 which broke cover in 2014. Woz wasn’t too disheartened about not getting the iPhone X since his wife is apparently getting one on launch day.
In his interview with CNBC, Wozniak said – “I’d rather wait and watch that one […] For some reason, the iPhone X is going to be the first iPhone I didn’t — on day one — upgrade to. But my wife will, so I’ll be close enough to see it.”
Woz went on to say that he’s more inclined towards electric cars these days and isn’t too interested in phones anymore. He also remained skeptical about Face ID authentication which will make its debut on the iPhone X.
