If you have ever wanted another way to order food, and you thought that doing so through the Facebook app would make sense, the social network has good news for you.
Today, Facebook officially announced that it has begun rolling out a new feature that will allow users to order food from within the app. It is available through the iOS and Android apps, and it is also available via desktop. To get it to work, users need to go into the Explore section of their app, find Order Food and tap on it. Once there, you’ll find restaurants that are in your area that support the new feature.
“Today, we’re taking the time out of finding what you want to eat by officially launching the ability to order food for pick-up or delivery, directly on Facebook. People already go to Facebook to figure out what to eat by reading about nearby restaurants, and seeing what their friends say about them. So, we’re making it even easier.”
It’s only available in the United States to start.
Facebook’s food ordering will also let you choose the service you want to use to handle the online order. The social network is already being supported by EatStreet, ChowNow, Olo, DoorDash, and Delivery.com. In addition to that, Facebook has partnered with a variety of restaurants, including Jack in the Box, Papa John’s, Panera, and others.
The new feature is rolling out today, so if this is something that you think you will use, and you spend a few minutes, at least, in the Facebook app, keep an eye out for it.[via Facebook]
